2016 NPL: Eduwo turns third player to net hat-trick

2016 Nigeria Premier League:

Kingsley Eduwo has become the third player to score a hat-trick this season in the Nigeria Premier League.

Eduwo became the match hero on Wednesday with his feat at the Aper Aku Stadium, Makurdi which helped Lobi Stars to dim visiting Enugu Rangers 3-1, in a match day eight NPL fixture.

The former Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) forward opened the scoring in the seventh  minute of the game off an assist from Tony Okpotu.

Eduwo doubled the lead before half time, while Chisom Egbuchulam reduced the tally for Rangers in the 83rd.

Four minutes later, the former Sunshine Stars striker, Eduwo completed the demolition of the Flying Antelopes with another goal, a feat which earned him the match ball as souvenir.

It will be recalled that Wasiu Jimoh became the first player this season to score a hat-trick in the 3-0 pounding of newly-promoted MFM of Lagos in a match day three fixture at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan.

Rabiu Ali later equalled the feat when he scored all goals for Kano Pillars in the 3-2 victory over Akwa United in a match day five fixture at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano.
