I can't wait for Bellew rematch--Haye *** Haye will fall by Rd 8--Bellew

David Haye has claimed that he is in the 'shape of his life' as he prepares for his eagerly anticipated heavyweight rematch with Tony Bellew.
Haye and Bellew will do battle at the O2 Arena on Saturday, May 5 just over a year on from their previous encounter.
In March 2017 Bellew stopped Haye when the latter's corner threw in the towel and the London fighter will be especially determined to prevail on this occasion.
Haye certainly appears in good shape going into the bout and, speaking in an Instagram video, made a bold claim regarding his fitness.
He said: 'I've just finished a hardcore session, April 29, just six days before facing Tony Bellew.
"I'm in the shape of my life.
"One more session after this, taper down.
"Believe me, make sure you tune in to Sky Box Office."
The 37-year-old has been undergoing his final preparations for the fight and is very confident that he will come out on top.
Bellew, meanwhile, has won his last nine fights in succession and will certainly represent a tough challenge for Haye to overcome.
Bellew has been in confident mood ahead of the fight and claimed that he will win within eight rounds on Saturday.
Haye, though, certainly won't give up easily and it will be intriguing to see who succeeds.
It will be recalled that Bellew recorded an 11th round TKO win over Haye in March 2017.

Nadal wins 11th Monte Carlo Masters title

Rafael Nadal on Sunday hammered Japan's Kei Nishikori in straight sets in the final of the Monte Carlo Masters to retain his status as world number one.

The 31-year-old Spaniard won 6-3, 6-2 in 94 minutes to claim a record-extending 11th triumph at the clay-court event.

Nadal has won 36 straight sets on his favoured surface after proving too strong for world number 36 Nishikori.

He had to win the Masters 1000 tournament to prevent Roger Federer overtaking him in the rankings.

"It's always special for me to be back here, having this trophy. It's one of the most important events of the year for me," said Nadal, whose victory over Nishikori, was his 76th career singles title win.

He was pushed by Nishikori at the start of the first set and fell a break down, but the 16-time grand slam champion hit back to take the opener in 56 minutes.

And despite this week representing only his second tournament outing after sustaining a hip injury at the Australian Open, Nadal won five straight games in the second set en route to his record 31st Masters title.

"I want to thank all my team and my family. We had some tough moments during the past five months after a couple of injuries in a row," added Nadal.

Nadal withdrew from the Mexican Open, Indian Wells Masters and Miami Open because of the hip problem before returning at the start of the month for Spain's Davis Cup quarter-final against Germany.

Former world number four Nishikori only returned from a four-month absence with a right wrist injury in January.

"I want to congratulate Kei for a great week. It's always difficult to be back from injury and I'm happy to see you again playing well," said Nadal.

Nigeria FI FuturesTombim Open: Nigerian stars, Emmanuel, Imeh crash out in first round

Nigeria's representatives at the ongoing Tombim Open Nigeria FI Futures in Abuja, on Tuesday crashed out from the ITF Pro Circuit tournament which has prize money as $25,000.
Wild card entrant, Sunday Audu was the first local to exit as he was beaten by Frenchman Remi Boutillier 6-3, 6-0 in a first round match that lasted approximately an hour.
Michael Michael, also a wild card beneficiary, was overwhelmed by another Frenchman Jaimee Angele 6-2, 6-0 in 57 minutes while Joseph Imeh Ubon, the top ranked player by the Nigeria Tennis Federation, lost 1-6, 6-4, 3-6 by Stephan Gerritsen of the Netherlands.
Spain-based Sylvester Emmanuel was the last Nigerian in action for the day and he started well by breaking Ronnie Schneider at the start of their match on Centre Court but the sixth-seeded American was unstoppable thereafter and bagged a 6-2, 6-3 victory.
Also through to the second round is Croatian Ivan Sabanov, another wild card player, who came from a brink of defeat, to stun Tom Jomby of France 2-6, 7-6 (7), 6-3 in a match that lasted two hours.
Sabanov’s brother, Matej, however, was not as lucky as he lost 6-1, 6-1 to Alexis Klegou of Benin Republic.

Federer is avoiding me on clay court-- Nadal

After one of the flattest months in the history of the ATP tour, world number one Rafael Nadal made a welcome return to the stage in Monte Carlo last Sunday, and immediately livened things up with a sly dig at his old rival Roger Federer.

Nadal has won at least one major for 10 consecutive years, an all-time record. His 16 grand slam singles titles ranks him second all-time behind Rogers Federer's 20's. Nadal has reached 23 grand slam singles finals, second all time. He has won the most French Opens (10).
Asked about Federer’s decision not to contest a single clay-court event for the second straight season, Nadal grinned broadly. “He says he will love to play against me again in best-of-five sets on clay,” came the reply. “He said that a couple of days ago – and I thought he would play
Roland Garros. Then a few days later he says he will not play in one event, so there’s a little bit of controversy with that.”
Nadal did not go into further detail, but clearly he feels that Federer has chickened out. Over the past 15 months, Federer has reshaped the story of their 14-year rivalry by winning four straight meetings, all on hard courts. Were they to play on clay, though, Nadal would be
heavily favoured to extend his overall advantage, which now stands at 23 wins from 38 matches.
Red clay is the blood that runs through Nadal’s veins. For the past decade and more, the eight weeks that run from the start of Monte Carlo to the end of the French Open have been his property. Others might nip in and pick up the odd title – even a slam, in the case of Novak
Djokovic (2016), Stan Wawrinka (2015) and Federer himself (2009). But they always feel like crumbs stolen from the giant’s table
Now Nadal is building up for another crimson-stained campaign, probably starting on Wednesday when he faces either Aljaz Bedene or Mirza Basic here in the second round. “I feel good,” he said during a media appointment at one of Monte Carlo’s many terrace restaurants. “I’m practising well, I am playing with the right intensity I think.” Underneath the high-class linen, one suspected he might have been pawing at the ground.
Admittedly, Nadal’s fitness record has been dreadful of late. He has failed to complete the past three tournaments he has entered – a run dating back to November’s Paris Masters – and did not even bother turning up for Indian Wells or Miami.
Yet some would argue that Nadal’s most recent niggle – the recurrence of a hip injury which he announced on Feb 27, a couple of days before his first match in Acapulco – might have been exaggerated. The sceptics suggest that Nadal has effectively been playing the same game
as Federer, only saving himself for the clay instead of the grass.
The theory makes logical sense, even if it stands in the unprovable category. Either way, it feels like a terrible waste that we will have to wait until Wimbledon for the next theoretical chance of enjoying Federer-Nadal XXXIX. Even there, the prospects are remote, given that
Nadal has not reached a quarter-final on Centre Court since 2011.
Nadal’s return to Monte Carlo derives a little extra kudos from the fact that tennis’s most bankable names – Federer, Nadal, Djokovic, Murray, Wawrinka, Williams, Sharapova – have failed to win a match between them on the tour since March 17. Nadal did, however, produce a
pair of strong performances in Valencia just over a week ago to help Spain through a thrilling Davis Cup quarter-final against Germany.
In the absence of these legends, we have seen some unexpected first-time winners, including John Isner claiming his maiden Masters title in Miami.

Federer smashes yet another record

Roger Federer is a record-breaker.
The 36-year-old has the most Grand Slam singles titles (20), the highest hard court match win percentage (87.6%), and was the world's oldest number one when he was briefly top of the tennis tree earlier in the year.
Many of Federer's records are seen as "unbreakable"— but even in his twilight years, the Swiss continues to rewrite the history books.
This is because Federer is now the first ATP player to spend 700 weeks ranked in the top four male players in the world. This is 13.4 years spent accumulating trophies, wealth, and fame.
Federer has other ATP ranking records. After all, he is the first ATP player to spend 300 weeks ranked at number one, the first to spend 500 weeks in the top two, and 600 weeks in the top three.
Federer is currently taking a break. He won the 2018 Australian Open in January and the Rotterdam Open in February, but after losses in the Indian Wells Masters final and the second round of the Miami Open, he decided to skip the clay court season so he could be fresh for the 2018

Wimbledon Championships. A tournament he has won a record eight times.
The earliest Federer will return to the sport is in June, for the Gerry Weber Open in Halle. But, considering his record at Wimbledon, something tells us he could continue to rewrite the history books in the near future.

I will shut Wilder's mouth up in the ring-----Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua has told Yahoo Sport that he will allow Deontay Wilder to win the pre-fight trash talk ahead of their world heavyweight unification clash – and then knock out his big rival when he gets him in the ring.
Promoter Eddie Hearn has suggested a fight to crown the undisputed king of the heavyweight division could be confirmed imminently, with a clash at a UK stadium this summer being finalised by both camps.
Now IBF, WBA, IBO and WBO champion Joshua has vowed to knock-out WBC champion Wilder, as he spoke exclusively to Yahoo Sport a Lucozade Sport Fitwater event in London.
“He’ll do a great job of promoting and selling himself and I’ll do a great job of beating him. It’s as simple as that. People talk a good game, but it’s about backing it up in the ring,” declared Joshua.
“People like to trash talk, but I do it in a more fun way unless it gets personal and then I’ll give as good as I get. I like to beat them in the ring. I’ve never heard of a record for winning press conferences or stare downs.”
Joshua went on to tell us that he is also eager to take on former heavyweight champion Tyson Fury once he beats Wilder, as he insists he is looking for a long reign as undisputed heavyweight champion despite a lack of high profile opponents if he gets past Wilder and Fury.
“I’m here for the long run and I’m here for my own reasons and well, my discipline and so on,” he declared. “So long as I keep those elements within my boxing, I’ll always have that passion for it. That cool, calm and collected attitude towards it. No stress with this life.
“I beat Wilder and Tyson Fury, but this is a career. I don’t see Man United playing Arsenal every week. Or Man United playing Man City every week. Sometimes they have to play a lower league club. You have got to fill the gaps.
“From an entertainment perspective, I’ll fight Wilder, Wilder Wilder….Fury, Fury, Fury, but in reality there are challengers coming up. There will be tough times in the ring…setbacks.
“There has not been one heavyweight who has not gone without a loss, apart from Rocky Marciano but that was years ago. This is the long run, I’m here for the enjoyment, I’m here for the ups and downs. In reality, there is a lot I can achieve in the space of the next ten years."
