The number three seed justified his rating when he defeated Yemi Asaleye 6-3, 6-1 in an exciting final played at the Grand Slam Arena court of the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium, Ibadan.
In a display of the spirit of sportsmanship, Asaleye, after the game presented a solar lamp made by Ashdam Ltd to his conqueror as gift.
The final was graced by the Chairman of the Oyo State Tennis Association, Alhaji Rasheed Oloyede, a former international player, among others.
To qualify for the final, Asaleye defeated Badmus Tolulope 6-4, 6-1 while Adegbola defeated number four seed Olatunde Oladimeji 6-0, 6-2.
Speaking with www.harmonysport.blogspot.com, Asaleye commended the executive council of OATC for organising the tournament, adding that efforts be intensified to ensure regular competitions for members of the Club.
Adegbola in his post-game remarks said "there is no victor, no vanquished" as he noted that the competition provided a forum for every member of the Club to compete in a relaxed atmosphere.
He stated that regular competitions would always attract members to the Club Arena.
Meanwhile, in the quarter-finals, Olatunde Oladimeji defeated Dolapo Bodunde 6-0, 2-1 retired, as Adegbola pipped Afolabi Ali 7-5, 6-0, Badmus Tolulope pipped Ken Obinna Odigwe 6-4, retired while Asaleye walked over Busari Tajudeen.
